Stand-up show by Lucy Beaumont, the 'So You Think You're Funny' finalist and 'Taskmaster' star, following her debut UK tour.
Lucy Beaumont brings her new show, Bad At Quiz Shows, Good With Weirdos, to Sheffield City Hall on Thursday 22 April 2027. It's her first time back in the city since her debut UK tour sold out, and this one leans heavily into the public mishaps she's collected over the last few years.
If you've seen her on telly, you'll recognise the sort of thing she's talking about. The show works its way through a few high-profile flops: costing a gameshow contestant £79,000 on primetime TV, flopping spectacularly on Mastermind, going into hiding after Traitors, and stitching cow udder couture on The Great British Sewing Bee. It's a good bit of self-deprecation, and the title does the heavy lifting for you.
Beaumont describes herself as a surreal stand-up, and that's where the hour goes. She takes half-formed thoughts on the deeply ordinary and lets them turn surreal and extraordinary across the hour, told by someone for whom 'normal' has never made much of an appearance. It's that same off-kilter energy that's carried her from the fringes to the main stage.

She's been around the circuit for a while now. She first made her name as a finalist on the 2011 edition of So You Think You're Funny, won a BBC Radio New Comedy Award in 2012, and was named a Best Newcomer Award Nominee at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2014. Since then, she's appeared on 8 Out of Ten Cats alongside her then-husband, fellow comedian Jon Richardson, and has become a regular face on primetime television, from Taskmaster and Celebrity Traitors to The Great British Sewing Bee.
The show runs for an hour at Sheffield City Hall, Barker's Pool, S1 2JA, starting at 8pm on Thursday 22 April.
