Club night from Plot 22's LOCAL series, with futuristic synth, acid and EBM from BODY//WORK.
BODY//WORK take over Plot 22 on Saturday 24 October, the latest in the LOCAL series. If you've been around the Sheffield dance scene lately, you'll know LOCAL is Plot 22's way of handing the keys to local crews and keeping ticket prices low, with all the profits split between the promoters and the venue. It's a straightforward setup: the club gives a night over to a crew from the city, they bring their own sound, and the entry stays cheap.
BODY//WORK are the ones in charge this time around. They describe the night as futuristic synth lines, squelchy acid and throbbing EBM, so expect a lean towards the harder, more industrial side of the dancefloor rather than anything light. It's the kind of sound that works best in a dark room with a proper system, and they've promised an inclusive atmosphere to go with it.
Plot 22 itself is run by RiteTrax, a social enterprise that provides music access to young people and vulnerable adults across Sheffield, so the venue has a bit more going on behind the scenes than your average club. The night runs from 22:00 to 02:00, with last entry at 01:30, which gives you plenty of time to get in and settle in without having to rush.

Tickets are cheap enough that you can grab them in advance and save a few quid: £2.50 for early entry or £5 for all night. If you leave it until the door, it's £7.50 for early entry and £10 for all night. It's a Saturday night in the city centre, so you've got plenty of options before and after, but if you're after acid and EBM, this is where you'll find it.
