Lions and Tigers and Bears with Gordon Buchanan

Gordon Buchanan is coming to the Octagon Centre on Thursday 25 February 2027, with his talk Lions and Tigers and Bears starting at 7:30pm. He's an award-winning wildlife photographer and filmmaker who has spent his career tracking big cats and bears across some of the most remote corners of the globe, and this is the live tour he's built around those encounters.

If you've seen his work before, you'll know the sort of places he's been. He's spent time in the bamboo forests of China and the snowy landscapes of Russia, the towering Himalayas and the depths of the Amazon, with the single aim of getting big cats and bears on film and sharing what he finds with a global audience. Lions and Tigers and Bears is billed as his biggest live tour to date, and the show is built around his encounters with pandas, grizzlies, tigers and jaguars.

It's not just the animals, though. He talks through the heart-stopping moments, the mud, sweat and tears, and the tender interactions that have shaped his career. It's as much about the process of getting the shot as it is about the animals themselves, and he's known for showing the side of wildlife filmmaking that doesn't always make it into the final edit.

Tickets are £32 full price and £29 concession, and the talk is at the Octagon Centre on Clarkson Street, Sheffield S10 2TQ, on Thursday 25 February 2027 at 7:30pm.
