Drop-in support group for LGBTQ+ people over 50, with sessions on the third Thursday of each month at Weston Park Museum.
The LGBTQ+ Over 50s Group meets at Weston Park Museum on Thursday 12 November, from 1pm to 3pm. It's a welcoming get-together for the LGBTQ+ community, held in a safe, friendly environment where the agenda is set by the members themselves. Rather than a set programme, it's a space for the group to decide what they want to talk about and what they want to do.
The group is led by people from the LGBT community, and it's about more than just a chat. They share information and work to engage the wider community on issues that matter to its members. It's supported by a good range of Sheffield's third sector organisations — LGBT Sheffield, SAYIT, Zest, and SOAR are all involved — and it keeps links with the LGBT Foundation in Manchester and Switchboard in Brighton, so it's connected to a much larger network than just what's happening within the city.
If you can't make the November date, there's another session on Thursday 10 December, and there was one back on Thursday 10 September, so it's a regular thing rather than a one-off. The museum itself is on Western Bank, Sheffield S10 2TP, and it's open Tuesday to Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 11am-4pm, though it closes on Mondays, including Bank Holidays.

It's free and you just drop in, so there's no need to book or plan ahead — you can just turn up on the day. The session runs from 1pm to 3pm on Thursday 12 November at Weston Park Museum.
