Author Laura Elizabeth Woollett talks about her memoir Hell Days and signs copies at Juno Books, a feminist and queer bookshop.
Laura Elizabeth Woollett is at Juno Books on Thursday 22 October, as part of her UK tour for Hell Days: Into the Inferno of Hormonal Mood Disorder. It's her first nonfiction book, a memoir that brings together the voices of PMDD sufferers, activists, clinicians and scientists to shed light on premenstrual dysphoric disorder. The talk itself runs for about 45 minutes, with another 15 for audience questions, and the shop stays open afterwards for a signing.
Woollett is an author and critic based in Naarm/Melbourne. Before this, she worked in fiction: her short story collection The Love of a Bad Man came out in 2016, followed by the novels Beautiful Revolutionary (2018), The Newcomer (2021) and West Girls (2023). Her writing has been shortlisted for the Stella Prize and the Prime Minister's Literary Award for Fiction, and in 2025 she was a writer-in-residence at the CitΓ© Internationale Des Arts in Paris. Hell Days marks a shift into nonfiction, and the talk is one of the dates she's playing across the UK to mark its release.
