One-off evening class for beginners to make a piece of silver jewellery and learn basic metalworking skills.
The Jewellery Business is running a jewellery making evening class on Friday 30 October, from 6pm to 9pm at their studio on Randall Street in Highfield. It's a one-off session for beginners, kept to a small group so everyone gets plenty of teacher time rather than just watching from the back. You'll make a piece of jewellery — a ring, a pendant or earrings — and pick up the basic metalworking skills along the way: sawing, filing, soldering and polishing. Most people leave with a silver piece.
If you fancy it, you can take the class more than once and make a different piece each time. And if you find you've got the bug, they run regular weekly classes for more advanced projects, so there's a way to keep going after the evening is over. It's a good starting point if you've never touched a torch or a file before.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Sheffield and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The class costs £50, but metal costs aren't included in that — they're extra and usually work out to between £10 and £25 per person. If you change your mind, you can get a refund up to seven days before the class. It runs from 6pm to 9pm at The Jewellery Business: Jewellery Classes, Randall Street, Highfield, Sheffield, S2 4SJ.
