Self-guided urban walking adventure that is part treasure hunt, part outdoor escape room, guided by the Go Quest Adventures app.
Go Quest Adventures is running an interactive treasure hunt through Sheffield on Thursday 22 October, starting at Sheffield Station. It's a self-guided urban walking adventure that sits somewhere between a treasure hunt and an outdoor escape room, and you play it entirely through the Go Quest Adventures app. The app turns the city streets into a course of clues, puzzles and discoveries, and as you work your way through, you earn points and compete on a city Leader Board.
The route runs for about two miles and takes roughly two and a half to three hours to complete. Because it's self-guided, the timing is completely flexible — you start whenever you like, so it's as much a morning thing as an afternoon or evening one. It's recommended for ages 10 and over, with children under 16 needing adult supervision, and the whole experience is pet-friendly, so you can bring the dog along. One thing to keep in mind: the app is in English only.
One group who's already been through it, Team Coughing Dodgers, called it 'absolutely brilliant' and recommended it to anyone looking for something more exciting than the usual day out. If you're used to just walking past the same city centre spots, this gives you a reason to actually stop and look at them properly.
