Live gig by Edinburgh post-punk and shoegaze act Insider Trading, with Committee of Sleep and Wireland, at The Washington.
Insider Trading headline The Washington on Wednesday 11 November, with Committee of Sleep and Wireland supporting. It's a Red Telephone night, and the music runs from 20:00 to 23:00.
Insider Trading are a four-piece from Edinburgh who pull together post-punk aesthetics, post-rock structures and shoegaze textures, with slowcore elements woven in to build complex, multi-layered tracks. They've built a following in the underground scene and a reputation as one of Scotland's most captivating live acts, with immersive shows that balance soft, emotional sections against extreme cacophonic crescendos. Their EP From Leith to New York captures that dynamic.
They're the headliners of the bill, with Committee of Sleep and Wireland opening the night. The whole thing is presented by Red Telephone, so it's a three-band run from start to finish. If you're not already familiar with them, the Edinburgh four-piece are the ones to watch here, and From Leith to New York is a good place to start before they hit the stage.
