Sheffield dance band Hekety marks its 30th anniversary with a folk, blues and world dance night at Crookes Social Club, with callers Nick Walden and Annie Bolt.
Hekety are back at Crookes Social Club on Saturday 9 January 2027, and it's a big one: they're celebrating 30 years of playing together. The night is presented by Shorterfolk, and the band will be joined by callers Nick Walden and Annie Bolt. It's a dance night, so the callers are there to lead the dancing, and the music pulls from folk, blues and world styles.
Thirty years is a long run for any band, and the organisers don't hide it — they put it simply: 'we have been going for 30 years'. That's three decades of playing in Sheffield, and they've chosen to mark the anniversary at Crookes Social Club, which they describe as their favourite local venue. It's a dance band, so the evening is built around people getting on their feet rather than just watching from a chair.
The night is open to all ages, so it's one you can bring the whole family along to. Doors open at 7:30pm and the music starts at 8:00pm, giving you plenty of time to get settled before the dancing kicks off. The venue is Crookes Social Club on Mulehouse Road, S10 1TD.
