Free half-term tabletop gaming session for school-aged children and young people receiving Targeted Free School Meals, with a healthy lunch provided.
Imagination Gaming are running a tabletop gaming session at Parson Cross Library on Tuesday 27 October, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. It's part of their Healthy Holiday Activities for the October half-term, and since it's a few days before Halloween, they've leaned into the timing, calling it a 'spook-tacular session of tabletop gaming'.
If you're not familiar with them, they work under the motto 'Learn to Play, Play to Learn' — the idea being that gaming is a way to pick up new skills while you're having a go. The session is built around tabletop games, so it's about sitting around a table, rolling dice, and working through a game with other people rather than staring at a screen. The Halloween theme puts a bit of a spooky twist on the games they'll be running, which fits the half-term vibe.
There's a specific bit of practical info to keep in mind: places are reserved for school-aged children and young people receiving Targeted Free School Meals. If that applies, the session is free, and a healthy lunch is provided on the day, so the kids are sorted for the whole morning. It's a four-hour window, so there's plenty of time to get into a few different games without having to rush through them.
