Greek author Antonis (Toni) Papadopoulos is interviewed by Pavlina Kostarakou and discusses his debut historical novel 'Nikandros' in a literary afternoon by Diavazo Greek Books.
Antonis (Toni) Papadopoulos is coming to Bank Street Studios on Saturday 5 December, where he'll be talking about his debut historical novel, Nikandros. The afternoon is run by Diavazo Greek Books, which is the only Greek bookshop in the UK.
The session is set up as an interview, with Papadopoulos being questioned by Pavlina Kostarakou. That part is conducted in Greek, so it's a bit of a deep dive into the book in its original tongue. After that, the floor opens up for a discussion and a Q&A that take questions in both Greek and English, which means you don't need to be a speaker to get involved — it's as much for Greek fiction lovers as it is for curious readers who've never picked up a Greek novel before.

Copies of Nikandros will be available to buy during the event, though they're in limited numbers and go on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you're keen to take one home, it's worth getting there a bit early. The whole thing kicks off at 16:30 at Bank Street Studios, 40A Bank Street, S1 2DS, and tickets are £5.
