Phil Ellis: Bath Mat

Phil Ellis brings his new show Bath Mat to Sheffield City Hall on Wednesday 28 October, with the performance taking place in the Oval Hall 3. It's his first full national stand-up tour, and this is the Sheffield stop on that run.

If the name doesn't ring a bell, you'll likely recognise him from Channel 4's Taskmaster, where he's been billed as one of the show's breakout stars. He's a multi-award-winning comedian and writer who first made his mark with Funz and Gamez, which picked up the Panel Prize at the 2014 Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Awards. Since then, he's appeared on screen in The Tapeface Tapes on BBC3 and Phil's Ill: Comedy Shorts on Dave.

Bath Mat comes on the back of three award wins at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe, and it's his first time taking a full show out on a national tour. The critics have described it as packed with "laugh-out-loud profound silliness" and "superbly crafted gags" — the kind of set that works as well for someone who's followed his career as it does for someone seeing him for the first time.

The show runs at 7:30pm on Wednesday 28 October at Sheffield City Hall, in the Oval Hall 3.
