Free Friday night of pop and retro dance hits at the iconic Popworld nightclub in Sheffield city centre, over 18s only.
Funky Fridays is back at Popworld Sheffield on Friday 23 October, and as the name suggests, it's a night built around the dancefloor. It's a free entry event, so it's one of the easier ways to get your Friday night sorted without having to commit to a ticket in advance.
Popworld is right in the heart of the city centre on Carver Street, and it's a venue that doesn't hide what it is. The dancefloors are lit by disco balls, and the music is a mash-up of commercial and pop hits mixed in with retro floor-fillers — the kind of set that works whether you're there to dance or just to sing along with your mates. The club bills the night as 'Sheffield's biggest party', a place to pop, dance and sing your heart out.
If you're heading in with a group, you can pre-book a booth to secure a prime spot and get access to exclusive offers and deals, which is worth considering if you'd rather have a home base for the night than spend it all on your feet. The drinks are kept affordable, so you can keep going without the bill getting out of hand.

It runs from 9:00pm until 4:00am, with last entry at 3:30am, so there's plenty of room to arrive late and still make a night of it. Entry is free, and it's strictly over-18s. If you're still looking for something to do on Saturday, the club also runs a Popworld Day Party every weekend.
