Club mashup and remix duo Friday Night Posse play Network Sheffield on Halloween.
Friday Night Posse are playing Network Sheffield on Saturday 31 October. If you've spent any time in a club over the last couple of decades, you've almost certainly heard their work, even if you didn't know their name at the time.
They started out DJing, producing and releasing club-friendly mashups, and built their following on more than 100 bootleg remixes that sold on vinyl in the thousands. From there, they moved on to official remixes for labels like Ministry of Sound, NuLife, Warner, Sony, Hed Kandi, EMI/Positiva and Universal. For a decade between 2002 and 2012, they worked in-house at All Around The World/Universal UK, and their work appeared on the majority of the classic Clubland compilation albums.
That period brought a fair few chart hits, including a UK number one in 2004 and another across Europe under the name Dancing DJs. They also fronted the successful UK number-one compilation series Friday Night Posse - Clubland Smashed. So, if you remember the big dance compilations of the 2000s, this is the outfit behind a good chunk of them.
