Free course offering an Islamic perspective on managing stress, anxiety and worry, with light refreshments.
Br Kaushar Tai is leading a free mental health and well-being course at Don Valley House on Saturday 7 November, from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm. He's the director of Aksaa, a positive coaching and training consultancy, and the session is put on by Aksaa Management and Training Consultants alongside the Muslimaat Association. Aksaa is also a CPD Verification Learning Provider Member.
The course looks at managing stress, anxiety and worry from an Islamic perspective, drawing on the Qur'an and Sunnah. One of the first things it tackles is the difference between mental health and mental illness, and from there it moves into the concept of the evil eye — al-'Ayn — and how to protect yourself through authentic Islamic teachings. The whole thing is tied back to everyday life, so it's less about abstract theory and more about how these ideas fit into a normal day.
