Workshop with Vitonika on the link between food and mood, how to tell emotional hunger from physical hunger and break the cycle of emotional eating.
Food, Mood and Emotional Eating is a workshop running at Over the Yardarm on Wednesday 11 November, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. It's led by Vitonika, and the whole thing is built around the link between what we eat and how we feel.
The session starts with the basics: why we crave certain foods and how those choices affect our energy and wellbeing. From there, it moves into the practical side of things, looking at how to tell the difference between emotional hunger and physical hunger, and how to break the cycle of emotional eating without relying on guilt, shame or diets. It's less about willpower and more about understanding the patterns that drive you.
That's a key point to keep in mind: this isn't a lesson in banning your favourite foods or following another diet. It's framed as a friendly, down-to-earth guide to understanding yourself better, with practical strategies for managing cravings and building a healthier relationship with eating. If you've ever found yourself eating when you're not actually hungry, or felt like your mood is steering your appetite, that's exactly what this is aimed at.
