Halloween-themed science workshop for families to make slime and create dancing ghosts with static electricity during the October half term.
Spooky Science is back at Kelham Island Museum on Thursday 29 October, running from 12pm to 3pm. It's a family activity for the October half term, and it returns by popular demand, so if you've been to it before, you'll know the sort of thing to expect.
The main draw is the slime: you get to make your own, and the museum describes it as the slimiest slime. While you're at it, they'll walk you through the chemical reactions that make it happen, so it's as much about the science as the making. The whole thing is given a Halloween twist, which fits the half-term timing.
There's a second project to get stuck into, too. You'll make your own dancing ghost using balloons, paper and static electricity, so you'll leave with two things to show for the afternoon. It's a drop-in session, which makes it easy to work around the rest of your day — you don't need to book in advance, you just turn up when it suits you.
