Evening workshop led by embroidery artist Jessica Grady on making festive felt decorations, with all materials provided.
Jessica Grady is running a festive felt decorations workshop at the Millennium Gallery on Thursday 26 November, starting at 18:00. It's an evening session, so it works if you're coming straight from work rather than spending your whole day off on it.
Grady is an award-winning embroidery artist, educator and author from West Yorkshire. Her work is a colourful exploration of hand stitch and mixed media, and she makes a point of using waste and recycled materials, so if you're into the idea of making something without buying a load of new stuff, this is right up that alley. She's exhibited across the UK, Europe and Asia, and her first book, Stitched Mixed Media, came out with Crowood Press in 2023.
The workshop is part of the 'Creative Workshops' collection run by Sheffield Museums Trust, the independent charity that operates six of the city's leading museums and heritage sites: Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, Graves Gallery, Kelham Island Museum, Millennium Gallery, Shepherd Wheel and Weston Park Museum. They put on a wide range of talks, tours, workshops, classes and late-night openings, all delivered by experts in their fields.

Places are limited to 12 participants, so it's a small group rather than a big class. All materials are provided, which means you don't need to turn up with your own kit. A basic level of sewing skills is helpful, but not essential, so you don't need to be an expert to join in. Tickets are £30.00 via Eventbrite, and the session runs from 18:00 at the Millennium Gallery, 48 Arundel Gate, Sheffield, S1 2PP.
