Free end-of-year networking breakfast hosted by Business Sheffield and Opportunity Sheffield to connect local businesses with support on funding, recruitment and training.
Business Sheffield and Opportunity Sheffield are hosting an end-of-year business networking breakfast at Electric Works on Wednesday 11 November, from 9.30am to 12.00pm. It's a morning for Sheffield business owners to connect with each other over a light breakfast, with tea, coffee and pastries on the table.
Opportunity Sheffield is the employment and skills service run by Sheffield City Council, and their side of the morning is about the practical side of running a team: funding, recruitment, training and general business advice. They'll be explaining how to access their services, which are aimed at helping local people get into work, find apprenticeships and get training. If you're looking to grow your staff or just want to know what support is out there for hiring in the city, that's the part to pay attention to.
Business Sheffield brings a different angle, focusing on the business itself rather than the people in it. They run a free, comprehensive programme of one-to-one support and workshops that cover marketing, finance, digital skills and growth strategies. Like Opportunity Sheffield, they'll be talking through how to get involved with their work, so you can get a sense of what they can do for your business before you commit to anything.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Sheffield and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Between the two of them, you've got the recruitment and skills side from one and the growth and management side from the other. The morning is set up so you can hear from both teams and then spend the rest of the time meeting other local businesses and advisors. It's a good way to get a handle on the support available in the city without having to book separate appointments. The breakfast is free, and it runs from 9.30am to 12.00pm at Electric Works, 3 Concourse Way, Sheffield City Centre, S1 2BJ.
