Late-night DJ set by Charissa Saverio, known as DJ Rap, at Sidney & Matilda in Sheffield.
DJ Rap is playing Sidney & Matilda on Friday 27 November, part of a tour that brings her to Sheffield. The night is presented by S&M and Junglist Alliance, and she's the sole name on the bill.
If you've come across her name but aren't sure where to start, Charissa Saverio — better known as DJ Rap — is a bit of a heavyweight in the scene. She's been voted the number one female DJ in the world for the last ten years, and that's not just a title; she's a classically trained pianist and songwriter who's spent years working across house and drum & bass. She also runs her own labels, Propa and Impropa Talent, so she's as much a label boss as she is a performer.
Her production credits go well beyond the dancefloor, too. She's collaborated with BT, Eric Morrillo, Hans Zimmer and Hybrid, and her work has appeared on PlayStation, Wii and in seven major films, including scores for Mission Impossible, Run Lola Run and Enough. She also revived the single 'Good To Be Alive - 2011', which first appeared on the album Learning Curve released on Sony Records. The Sheffield date is one stop on her current tour, so it's a live session rather than a one-off.

It's a late one: the session runs from 23:00 until 04:00, so you've got five hours of her behind the decks. You'll find her at Sidney & Matilda, 46 Sidney Street, Sheffield S1 4RH.
