DC Presents live gig by Sheffield songwriter Adam Hopper and his band The Wimps, recorded their debut album at Delicious Clam.
Adam Hopper & The Wimps play Delicious Clam on Saturday 28 November, with support. It's a homecoming of sorts: Hopper recorded his self-titled debut album right there at the venue, which doubles as a Sheffield studio, and he even made the stampers used to press the record onto vinyl as part of his day job. The night runs from 7:30pm to 11:00pm, and the set will draw from that new full-length, his first since 2025's EP Remember To Have Fun, which landed the band a live session on Riley and Coe's BBC 6 Music show.
Hopper is a Manchester-born songwriter who moved south to get stuck into Sheffield's DIY scene. He started out performing solo in Manchester in 2022, after a stint in the post-punk outfit Blanketman, and shifted towards a sweeter, anti-folk style of songwriting. The Wimps formed around him in 2023, pulled together from friends and local musicians who'd played in bands like Autocamper and The Accident Group. The full line-up is Adam Hopper on vocals, lyrics, acoustic guitar, harmonica and keys; Niamh Purtill on vocals; Big John Chips on electric guitar; Nathan Bailey on bass; and Felix Harrap on drums and percussion.

Critics have described the writing as organic and genuine, built on jangly guitars, swirling harmonica and a buoyant rhythm section. The live set brings that sound to the stage, with the full band behind Hopper's songwriting. It's a Saturday night at Delicious Clam, 12 Exchange Street, from 7:30pm to 11:00pm, with support opening the bill.
