Free in-person creative writing workshop for adults aged 18 and over, run by Libraries Sheffield, with gloves as its theme.
Libraries Sheffield are running a creative writing workshop at Sheffield Central Library on Friday 23 October, from 10:00 to 11:45. It's a morning session, an hour and forty-five minutes in total, and it's open to new and established writers aged 18 and over.
The theme for the session is gloves. It's a concrete starting point: the first part of the workshop is spent looking at how gloves have been used in literature and poetry, so you get to see how other writers have handled the subject before you start your own work. After that, you'll spend the rest of the session writing creatively around it. If you've ever felt stuck staring at a blank page, having a specific prompt like that is usually a lot easier than trying to come up with something from thin air.

It's an in-person session, held at the library in the city centre, so you'll be working alongside other writers rather than on your own at home. Whether you're just starting out or you've been writing for years, it's a good way to spend a Friday morning with people who'd rather be writing than doing anything else. Entry is free, and the whole thing runs from 10:00 to 11:45 at Sheffield Central Library on Surrey Street, S1 2LH.
