Free country and western bingo night with themed prizes, food and country-style dress-up awards at Gorilla Beer Hall.
Country & Western Bingo comes to Gorilla Beer Hall on Saturday 7 November, starting at 18:00. It's exactly what the name suggests: a session of bingo played out with country and western music running through it, rather than the usual numbers-and-silence format.
Country nights around Sheffield tend to settle into intimate venues like basement clubs or pub function rooms, built around lively acoustic sets of fiddle, banjo and guitar and often fronted by storytellers who walk the room through their songwriting process. This one leans into the country and western aesthetic as much as the music: there are themed prizes to be won, food available throughout the night, and an invitation to turn up in full country attire for a chance to win awards for the best look. If you've got a cowboy hat or a pair of boots gathering dust, this is the kind of night they're meant for.

It's a bit of a hybrid, then — part game, part music night, with the dress-up side of things playing as big a part as the bingo itself. The venue is Gorilla Beer Hall, Unit 3 Cliff St, Canalside Industrial Estate, Mexborough S64 9HU, in Sheffield. Entry is free, though you'll need to book your tickets via Fatsoma to guarantee your place. It kicks off at 18:00 on Saturday 7 November.
