A tribute show of country hits by a cast of vocalists and a live band under candlelight at Sheffield Cathedral.
Country by Candlelight comes to Sheffield Cathedral on Friday 30 October, a candlelit country music session that's part of the cathedral's wider 'Candlelight' series. The venue describes the series as bringing a live, multi-sensory musical experience to locations in Sheffield that haven't been used for this before.
The show is staged by a cast of vocalists and a live band performing country hits from a long list of names: Dolly Parton, Luke Combs, Kenny Rogers, Rascal Flatts, Shania Twain, John Denver, Darius Rucker and Chris Stapleton. It's a broad run of artists, so the set should pull from a fair few different corners of the genre.
It arrives from London's West End and is produced by Kinda Dusty Ltd, whose 'Concerts by Candlelight' series runs tribute shows to a wide range of musical acts across the UK and Ireland. The evening is billed as guaranteed to heal your Achy Breaky Heart and get the audience dancing the night away, and there'll be a licensed bar available.
