Christopher Hall (Foundry)

Christopher Hall brings his stand-up show to Foundry on Tuesday 20 October, with doors opening at 19:00. The show is called Pizazz, and Hall describes it as theatrical, glamorous and likely to feature dancing. He bills himself as a showman, a jester and an 'attention chaser', and says the show draws on his younger, life-of-the-party self.

If his name doesn't ring a bell, you've probably seen his videos. He first made his name through the Background Singer clips he filmed with his sister, Lizzie, and since then he's worked with the likes of Sugababes, Nasha Bedingfield, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Shania Twain. Between the videos and the collaborations, he's built an audience of more than 1.2 million followers across Instagram and TikTok. He and Lizzie also co-host the Stay Hydrated podcast, so there's a fair bit of the sibling dynamic that runs through his work.

Pizazz is a stand-up show, but the 'theatrical' and 'glamorous' labels suggest it's not just a comic standing behind a mic. Hall's background is in singing and performance, and he's open about the dancing being part of the act. It's less a traditional stand-up set and more a full-on stage show, which fits the 'showman' persona he leads with.

Foundry is at Sheffield Students' Union, Western Barns, Sheffield S10 2TG. Doors are at 19:00, and the night is strictly 18+.
