Free morning talk on the myths and facts about cancer, with breast checks by professionals, run by SADACCA.
SADACCA is hosting Breakfast with Jesus: Myths and facts about cancer on Saturday 31 October, from 10 am to 2 pm. It's a morning session run by the Sheffield And District African Caribbean Community Association, held at their centre at 48 Wicker, Sheffield S3 8JB.
The morning is built around a talk on the myths and facts surrounding cancer. The idea is to set out the truths and bust the common misconceptions in a relaxed, friendly environment where people can learn, share and chat. It's not a formal lecture; it's a space to get clear on the things people often get wrong about cancer, and to ask questions without feeling on the spot.
There's more to it than just the talk, too. A team of professionals will be on hand to carry out breast checks throughout the morning, so you can get one done while you're there. Between the talk and the checks, there's plenty of room to just sit and talk with other people, which is a good part of why it's set up as a morning gathering rather than a one-off presentation.
