Free art sessions for babies and toddlers under three, with hands-on activities and sensory play, at the Millennium Gallery.
Art at the Start are new, specially designed sessions for babies and toddlers in the city centre, and they're running at the Millennium Gallery on Wednesday 4 November and Wednesday 2 December. They're built around fun hands-on activities and sensory play, where the smallest visitors explore and make art together. They follow the Art at the Start method, and things can get messy, so there are sinks right in the activity room. The sessions are for children under three, who need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.
While the little ones are busy, there's plenty to see around them. The Millennium Gallery is home to the Guild of St George's Ruskin Collection and the Sykes Gallery Metalwork Collection, one of the finest in the world, with more than 800 examples of the cutlery, flatware and tableware that made Sheffield famous. If you've got a bit of time before or after, it's worth a wander through.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Sheffield and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

And if you need a break, the gallery's café, Ambulo, does coffee and grilled cheese sandwiches, and the shop stocks homeware, hand-crafted jewellery and stationery. Entry is free, and they ask for a £5 donation. Both sessions are at the Millennium Gallery on Arundel Gate, S1 2PP.
