Anomaly Life Drawing

Anomaly Life Drawing is back at The Floristry School on Tuesday 27 October, from 7pm to 9pm. It's a non-traditional life drawing session over in Kelham Island, and it's open to artists of all skill levels, so you don't need to be coming from a formal background to get involved. Each week brings a different model, and the night starts with an artist reference segment that offers fresh techniques and a bit of creative inspiration to set the tone.

The first half mixes short poses with tips to help you step out of your comfort zone, and the break brings complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. The room itself is full of colours and patterns, and you can choose to work from an easel or just sit on a sofa and draw from there. The sessions are untutored, which makes them a place to relax and enjoy drawing the human form rather than worrying about getting it exactly right. The organisers present it as a great starting point for anyone beginning a life-drawing journey.

One of the best things about it is that you don't need to bring a thing. Paper, charcoal, pastels, pencils and pens are all provided, so you can just turn up and start drawing. It's at The Floristry School, on the Little Kelham Island estate, Cotton Mill Walk, Sheffield, S3 8DH. Tickets are £11.55 to £15.34, and that covers all your drawing materials and the guidance throughout the night.
