Free launch night for a new piece of work by artist Amadora at The Forum on Devonshire Street, with a meet-and-greet and an exhibition of her other Sheffield work.
Amadora is showing a new piece of Sheffield artwork at The Forum on Thursday 22 October, from 6.30pm. It's a launch night for the piece, and the artist will be there to meet people on the evening. Alongside the new work, there's an exhibition of her other Sheffield-themed pieces, so you can see where this one fits in with the rest of her work on the city.
The Forum sits at 127-129 Devonshire Street, right in the Devonshire Quarter. It's been a fixture of the city's independent scene for decades, with a bar and kitchen out front, indie shop units inside and a steady soundtrack. Around it, the Devonshire Quarter — Devonshire Green, Division Street and West Street — is the city-centre district where the Forum sits alongside independent shops, bars and venues, and where Devonshire Green hosts outdoor events in summer. This launch is part of the venue's 35th anniversary celebrations, so it's one of the things they're doing to mark the milestone.
