Abbeydale Brewery Run Club

Abbeydale Brewery Run Club is back at Abbeydale Beerworks Taproom on Wednesday 11 November, the second Wednesday of the month. It's a 5-mile (8km) run led by Jim, the brewery's own brewer and run leader, and it's built for all abilities — everyone is back with a pint within the hour, and there's a discount on your first drink when you return.

The run starts from the Beerworks Taproom at 298 Abbeydale Road in Nether Edge, S7 1FL. If you're coming from a bit further afield, you can leave a small bag or jacket at the taproom before you head out, and Jim takes ICE details for the group. It's free to attend, so you just need to turn up.

The Beerworks itself is a new addition to the Abbeydale family, opened in 2026 as the brewery celebrated its 30th anniversary. It sits on Abbeydale Road, just 200 steps from the brewery, and pours twelve draught lines. Ten of those are dedicated to the brewery's own range, including the flagship pale ale Moonshine, alongside a Funk Dungeon line of small-batch mixed-fermentation beers and a 'Friends of Abbeydale Brewery' guest keg. There's cider, spirits, wine and snacks too, so there's plenty to choose from once you're back.

If you can't make this one, the club runs the second Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm. The next few are Wednesday 9 December — a Christmas Lights Run special — followed by Wednesday 13 January and Wednesday 10 February 2027. The brewery has been a Sheffield institution since Patrick Morton founded it in 1996, and it became employee-owned in 2024, claiming to be the first and still only employee-owned brewery, pub and taproom in England. The run is free to join, starting at 6:30pm from the taproom.
