A high-energy punk and pop rock night featuring Simple Minded Symphony, Family Obligation and Digital Darlings at the Conor Byrne Pub.
Simple Minded Symphony headlines a three-band bill at Conor Byrne Pub on Wednesday, October 7, with Family Obligation and Digital Darlings joining them. It's billed as a high-energy punk show, and the whole night is 21+.
Family Obligation, who go by FO, come from San Jose. They describe their sound as catchy pop melodies dripping with angst, glitter and distortion, and they've got a 90s power pop thing going on. Their style pulls from bubblegrunge, pop rock, garage rock, power pop and garage punk, and they're best known for their energetic live sets and their cat-themed merch. The group is fronted by singer-songwriter Christie Dierk, with guitarist Kevin Ryan, bassist Kyle Lester and drummer Micah Turney.
Simple Minded Symphony takes the top spot, and Digital Darlings round out the lineup. Between the three of them, you've got a full night of indie and pop, with the punk energy of FO leaning into that power pop side of things.

Doors open at 7 PM, and the music starts at 8 PM. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door, so it's a bit cheaper if you grab yours ahead of time. The show is at Conor Byrne Pub, 5140 Ballard Avenue NW in Ballard, and since it's 21+, you'll need your ID.
