Post-hardcore/metal band Eyes Set to Kill perform live at El Corazon, with support from Sicksense and Twist It.
Eyes Set to Kill play El Corazon on Friday, December 11, with Sicksense and Twist It opening. It's a post-hardcore and metal bill, and the headliners bring a sound that's built around a specific family dynamic: sisters Alexia and Anissa Rodriguez have been the core of the band since it started in Phoenix in 2003. Alexia handles lead vocals and harsh screams, which layer over Anissa's guitar work and drummer Caleb Clifton's percussion. Their live shows are backed by a state-of-the-art light show.
If you're coming to them from the middle of their catalog, you've probably caught them around The World Outside, the 2009 album that peaked at No. 9 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. That followed their debut EP, When Silence Is Broken, The Night is Torn, from 2006, and their first full-length, Reach, in 2008. In 2013, they signed with Century Media Records and put out the Masks LP. They've toured widely over the years, including a run supporting nu metal act Otep.

That early history is worth a mention because the band's lineup has shifted. They started with original frontwoman Lindsey Vogt, but when she left, Alexia took over lead vocals and they added Caleb Clifton on drums. Since then, the Rodriguez sisters have remained the driving force. The set on the 11th will be shared with Sicksense and Twist It, so you'll get three acts in one night. The show starts at 7 PM at El Corazon, 109 Eastlake Ave. East, Seattle, WA 98109.
