Medieval fantasy heavy metal band Castle Rat performs live at The Showbox, with support from Unto Others and Wraith Knight, as part of the Summon The Beasts Tour 2026.
Castle Rat play The Showbox on Wednesday, October 7, with Unto Others and Wraith Knight. It's a stop on their Summon The Beasts Tour 2026, and the whole night is built around the band's medieval fantasy heavy metal. They're from New York City, and they don't just play the part — they perform in full character roles: 'The Rat Queen' Riley Pinkerton on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, 'The Count' Franco Vittore on lead guitar and backing vocals, 'The Plague Doctor' Charley Ruddell on bass, and 'The All-Seeing Druid' Joshua Strmic on drums. Their live shows are known for being interactive and lore-laden, and they include a choreographed battle scene.
They've been at this since 2019. Their first album, Into The Realm, came out in April 2024 on King Volume Records, crossed one million Spotify streams, and hit number one on Bandcamp's Best-Selling Hard Rock/All Rock Album chart. In 2025, they ran a record-breaking Kickstarter that became the most successful metal campaign in over a decade, closing at $139,000, and their second album arrived in September 2025. Between the two records, they've got a fair amount of material to pull from for the set.
