Interactive gameshow night with trivia, limericks, guess-who, trials of skill and chance-based games for a chance to win prizes.
Bupp! is taking over Chop Suey on Wednesday, October 14, for a night they're calling Bupp! Gameshow Night! and the whole point is that you don't just sit and watch. It's an interactive show where the audience joins in, so if you're the kind of person who'd rather be part of the act than just a face in the crowd, this is your kind of night.
The lineup of games is a bit of a variety pack. There's trivia for the people who keep random facts in their head, limericks for anyone who can put a rhyme together on the fly, and guess-who for the observant. Then there are trials of skill for when you actually have to do something, and games that rely entirely on chance, which means you can win even if you have no idea what's going on. There are prizes up for grabs, and the organizers describe it as a chance to impress your friends, fail publicly in a fun way, and pretend you're on TV for a while.
It's a mid-week thing, so it's a good one to drag a few people along with you. The more friends you bring, the easier it is to hide when you're failing publicly, and the better it is when you actually manage to win something. If you're not the competitive type, you can still just hang back and watch everyone else scramble around the room.
