The 40th annual caroling competition where over 20 teams sing and compete for votes and donations to support the Pike Market Senior Center and Food Bank.
The Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition returns to Pike Place Market on Saturday, December 5, from 12 PM to 3 PM. It's the 40th annual edition of the competition, a holiday tradition that's been running for four decades and brings nearly 10,000 people to the Market every year to ring in the season.
More than 20 teams compete throughout the afternoon, and the winner isn't decided by a panel of judges. Instead, the crowd votes for their favorites with donations—even a $1 vote counts. All the proceeds go to the Pike Market Senior Center and Food Bank, which serves as a vital resource for the Market community and downtown Seattle. It's the Senior Center and Food Bank's most important fundraising event of the year, so the more people who show up and vote, the better.

The singing continues until the afternoon culminates in head-to-head sing-offs between the top teams, with special guests who may join in. It's a spirited way to spend a Saturday in the heart of the city, and since it's free to attend, you can drop by for a bit or stay for the whole thing. The competition runs from 12 PM to 3 PM at Pike Place Market, 1501 Pike Pl, Seattle, WA 98101.
