Annual free, family-friendly neighborhood festival with local food, live music, artists, makers, a beer garden, shopping and kids' activities.
The University Heights Fall Festival returns to Trolley Barn Park on Saturday, October 17, from 12 PM to 5 PM. It's an annual neighborhood tradition run by parent and community volunteers, and this year it's moving into the center of University Heights along Park Boulevard and Adams Avenue. The festival is free and open to the public.
It's a family-friendly day that pulls together a few different things in one spot: local food, live music, artists and makers, a beer garden, shopping, and activities for kids. The whole thing is hosted by Friends of Birney Elementary and the University Heights Community Association, with the UH Garden Club also lending its support. Because it's run by volunteers, the proceeds go to Friends of Alice Birney Elementary and student enrichment programs, including art, garden, and Spanish.

Since the festival is moving into the heart of the neighborhood this year, there will be road and parking closures along Park Boulevard and Adams Avenue on the day. If you're planning to drive in, keep that in mind and give yourself a little extra time to find a spot. The main hub is Trolley Barn Park, at 1943 Adams Ave in University Heights, and the festival spills out from there onto the surrounding streets. It runs from 12 PM to 5 PM, so you can drop in for an hour or hang out for the whole afternoon. Admission is free.
