A festive winter wonderland with Christmas lighting displays, nightly snowfall, a 40-foot tree, Santa visits, a carousel, train rides, carnival games and sledding.
Holiday Wonderland returns to Gallagher Square at Petco Park from December 4 through December 23, 2026. It's one of those San Diego December traditions that takes over a good chunk of the ballpark for a few weeks, and this year they're describing it as even bigger and more magical than before.
The whole thing is built around a winter wonderland theme. You'll find Christmas lighting displays across the square, nightly snowfall, and a 40-foot Christmas tree decorated for the season. It's the kind of setup where you can spend a few hours just walking through and taking in the lights.
Your admission covers a fair amount of the activities. You can meet Santa and other holiday characters, take a ride on the grand carousel, and hop on the Christmas train. There are carnival games to play and a hill with real snow for sledding. If you're looking for something to eat or drink, they'll have festive drinks, seasonal treats, and local artisan shops open for browsing. It's a lot to fit into one visit, so you might want to pick a night when you've got a few hours to kill.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in San Diego and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Beyond the public side of things, the site can also be booked as a venue for corporate and group holiday parties, so if you're planning a work outing, that's an option too. Otherwise, you can just drop in whenever you're in the mood for some holiday cheer. It runs from December 4 through December 23 at Gallagher Square at Petco Park in San Diego.
