The Shunzo Ohno Band

The Shunzo Ohno Band plays Lou Lou's Jungle Room on Sunday, October 11, starting at 7 PM. It's a single-bill night, so the band is the only act on the program.

Shunzo Ohno is a jazz trailblazer, and this is his band performing live. If you're not familiar with his work, he's a name that comes up in jazz circles for pushing the music forward, and this show puts that sound in front of a San Diego audience. The set is built around his band, with Ohno himself leading the way.

The venue is Lou Lou's Jungle Room, located inside The LaFayette Hotel at 2223 El Cajon Blvd. It's a spot in the heart of the city, so it's easy to get to whether you're coming from downtown or from further out in the neighborhood. The show kicks off at 7 PM on a Sunday night, which makes it a good way to wind down the weekend with some live jazz.

Entry is complimentary, so you don't need to worry about tickets or a cover charge. Between the free admission and the Sunday night slot, it's a low-stakes way to catch a jazz set in the city. The Shunzo Ohno Band takes the stage at 7 PM at Lou Lou's Jungle Room, 2223 El Cajon Blvd.
