TEN - US Showcase Tour

Ten are playing Humphrey's Concerts By The Bay on Friday, October 23, as part of their US Showcase Tour. It's a tribute to Tenacious D, the duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass, who call themselves 'the Greatest Band on Earth.'

The story behind the band is one of the better ones in rock. Black and Gass started playing together in Gass's studio apartment on Cochran Avenue in Los Angeles, and they played their first gig at Al's bar in downtown LA in 1994. At the time, they only had one song: 'Tribute,' which is itself a tribute to the greatest song in the world. That's the kind of thing they've built their whole act around.

Humphrey's is a waterfront venue on Shelter Island, and this particular show is general admission and standing-room-only, so you'll be on your feet for the night. Tickets are required for all ages, and the venue is cashless, so come prepared with a card. All guests are searched before they enter, and there are a few rules about what you can bring: bags larger than 12x12x6 and backpacks are prohibited, and no food or beverages are allowed inside. The venue is located at 2241 Shelter Island Drive in San Diego.

Doors open at 7 PM, and the show starts at 8 PM. It's a Friday night, so you've got the rest of the weekend to recover.
