San Diego Made: LIVE

San Diego Made: LIVE returns to the San Diego Made Factory on Saturday, October 17, from 6 to 9 PM. It's one of those nights that only happens once a season, and it's built around the artists, makers, and small businesses that the Factory supports year-round. The whole space opens up for the evening, and you can watch artists create in real time.

The night is a collaboration with the City of San Diego's Artist Incubator program, which brings live art and open studios into the mix. For performances, Miki Vale, Miguel Galvan, Joe Cantrell, Cathy Carey, and Alexandra Carter are on the bill, with DJ Bootsy Bolaños on the decks. Tres Marias is handling the food and Compagna Creativa is on drinks, so you can eat and drink while you wander through the studios. It's all ages, and the whole thing is free to attend.

To get a sense of the place: the San Diego Made Factory is a 501(c)(3) artist collective and Creative Flex Workspace. It's a mix of private offices, maker studios, flexible desks, and conference rooms, and it serves as an incubator for local artists, makers, remote workers, and small businesses. Its mission is to provide affordable, inclusive workspaces and arts-driven community events, and it runs resident-artist programs like My Creative Journey / Mi Viaje Creativo.

There's also a cause behind the night. Proceeds from the Artist Mystery Bag Wall and the bar go toward helping one of the Factory's tenants, Darell of Amoi Candles, buy a new wheelchair.
