Death metal band Nile performs at the House of Blues in San Diego, supported by Coroner and Syn-Absence.
Nile play the House of Blues San Diego on Sunday, March 21, 2027, with Coroner and Syn-Absence opening. It's a death metal bill that runs from the early afternoon through the evening, with doors opening at 6 PM and the show starting at 6:30 PM.
Nile has been a presence in death metal since 1993, hailing from Greenville, South Carolina and Athens, Greece. They're known for complex compositions and a demanding brand of technical death metal, with a thematic focus that draws from ancient Egyptian history and mythology alongside H.P. Lovecraft lore. Their discography includes influential albums like Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka (1998), Annihilation of the Wicked (2005), and Vile Nilotic Rites (2019). Their tenth studio album, The Underworld Awaits Us All, came out August 23, 2024, via Napalm Records, so there's new material in the mix.
The current lineup features George Kollias on drums and Karl Sanders on guitars and vocals. They're joined on the bill by Coroner and Syn-Absence, who'll open before Nile takes the stage. The show is all ages, though anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or a responsible adult aged 25 or older.
