Classic film screening projected on the exterior screen with a guided tour included in the ticket price.
Movies in the Courtyard kicks off at the Gaslamp Museum at the Davis-Horton House on Thursday, October 8, with a classic film projected on the outdoor screen. It's an open-air screening in the museum's courtyard, so you'll be watching under the stars rather than inside a theater.
One thing that sets this apart from a standard movie night is that the ticket includes a tour of the museum. You get to walk through the house and see the collection before the film starts, so the evening is as much about the building as it is about the movie. It's a good way to spend a few hours in the Gaslamp Quarter without having to rush from one spot to another.
This isn't a one-off, either. The series runs through October 22, so if you can't make it on the 8th, there are more dates coming up over the next couple of weeks. If you're a fan of old cinema and don't mind a bit of a walk around a historic house, it's a straightforward way to spend a Thursday night.
