Two-day autumn festival inspired by New York harvest celebrations, with live music, artisan makers, food and drink, hands-on activities and a builders workshop.
Harvest on the Promenade takes over The North Promenade at Liberty Station this weekend, October 17 and 18. It's a two-day autumn festival set beneath the tree-lined promenades of Liberty Station, and the whole thing is built around a few specific attractions: a builders workshop, a glowing hollow, a makers village, field days, and live music. The makers village brings in local artisans, and the builders workshop and field days are the hands-on parts of the weekend. The glowing hollow is the seasonal installation that ties it together.
There's a specific inspiration behind it. The organizers describe it as a reimagining of the small-town harvest celebrations of Upstate New York, brought to Southern California. The idea is to blend immersive seasonal attractions with live music, artisan makers, elevated food and drink, and activities that families and friends can do together. They say the festival was created to help families slow down and be present with one another, encouraging connection over distraction.
There's also a charitable side to it. Ten percent of the festival's profits go to Make-A-Wish to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
