A family-friendly Día de los Muertos celebration with music, art, calavera cookie decorating, and a procession.
San Diego Craft Collective, Songbirds Music, and Apt4Music are hosting a Día de los Muertos celebration at the Dorothea Laub Music & Arts Center on Sunday, November 1, from 10 AM to 2 PM. It's a free, all-ages gathering in the Arts District of Liberty Station, and the organizers describe it as a heart-centered, non-scary way to honor loved ones who've passed—people and animals alike—through music, art, and hands-on activities.
The morning starts with calavera cookie decorating, and the day continues with music making and festivities. At 1:30 PM, there's a procession that walks through the Dorothea Laub Music & Arts Center and the Dorothea Laub Dance Place buildings. Along the way, you can take in the art and the handmade shrines created by local community members and students.

The whole project was made possible through the Arts District Liberty Station Collaborative Funding Program. Because space is limited, an RSVP is required, and donations are appreciated. The event runs from 10 AM to 2 PM on Sunday, November 1, at the Dorothea Laub Music & Arts Center, 2590 Truxtun Rd, Point Loma, and it's free to attend.
