First-ever Día de los Muertos celebration with family activities, ofrendas, and a live music evening at the San Diego Automotive Museum.
The San Diego Automotive Museum is hosting its first-ever Día de los Muertos celebration on Saturday, October 10, with activities running from 9 AM to 4 PM and a concert from 6 PM to 10 PM. It's built around the Mexican tradition of honoring and remembering loved ones who have passed, with remembrance, family, and community at its center. The day is set up for you to move through the traditions at your own pace: there are ofrendas to take in, a holiday photo opportunity, and meetings with Catrinas. You can also bring a photograph of a loved one to add to the museum's public ofrenda, and out in the back dirt lot, lowriders will be gathered, tying automotive culture to the occasion. Throughout the day, you'll find these traditions happening around some of the world's most beautiful and historic vehicles in the museum's Balboa Park home.
The evening shifts gears with a live set by DannyV, a Latino independent artist from Watsonville, California, known for a soulful sound and fan favorites like "My Baby," "I NEED YOU," "One Last Chance," and "Morning Coffee." He'll be performing with special guest Vanessa Vindell.
