Pop rock band Broadside perform live at House of Blues San Diego, with support from Dead Poet Society, Honey Revenge and HUNNY.
Broadside play House of Blues San Diego on Friday, October 23, with support from Dead Poet Society, Honey Revenge and HUNNY. It's a full bill, with three openers before the headliner takes the stage.
Broadside are a pop rock band from Richmond, Virginia. Their sound draws on The Killers, AFI, Kings of Leon and Taking Back Sunday, fusing nostalgic rock energy with a modern edge. The group is fronted by Oliver Baxxter on vocals, with Domenic Reid on guitar and Patrick Diaz on bass and backing vocals. They released the album Nowhere, At Last through Thriller Records.
That list of influences gives you a good sense of where they sit: the big hooks of The Killers and the punchy, melodic side of early 2000s rock like Taking Back Sunday. It's music that leans into the loud-quiet-loud dynamics and singalong choruses of that era, but with a contemporary polish. With Baxxter on vocals and Diaz adding backing vocals, there's a focus on the melodic side of things, and the guitar work from Reid keeps it firmly in the rock camp.
