Blaise Guld

Blaise Guld plays the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina on Friday, October 9, from 6 PM to 9 PM. He'll be performing indoors, right in front of Rumorosa, so you can grab a drink and a bite while you listen. It's a solo set, and the repertoire pulls from a wide range: Top 40 and pop, folk, and some rock mixed in.

Guld is a San Diego-based musician who's been making music since he was fifteen. He's self-taught and comes from a theater background, which he says makes his music visual and story-driven. He moved to San Diego about seven years before this show and has played a long list of the city's venues since then—Whiskey Girl and The Prado at Balboa Park, Southpaw Social Club, Ginger's, Prospect Bar & Grill, the San Diego Fair, Sea World, Jimmy Loves, Revolver at Voyeur Nightclub, Ostera and Indulge at the Embassy Suites, along with weddings and private gigs.

His first solo LP, Past Forward, came out on April 15, 2014. It's a nine-song soul, rock and pop album that he produced, engineered, mixed and recorded himself, with Michael Growe as executive producer and lyrics by Scott Lutz on one track. That record sits right in the middle of the styles he brings to his live sets.

The show runs from 6 PM to 9 PM on Friday, October 9, at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, 1380 Harbor Island Dr, in front of Rumorosa.
