BALTHVS

BALTHVS play The Holding Company on Thursday, October 22, with the show running from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM. They're coming in from Bogotá, Colombia, where they've built a name as one of the city's most active bands.

They formed in 2020, just three months before the pandemic hit, which makes them one of the first 'pandemic bands' to come out of Colombia. Since then, they've put out five albums and twelve EPs, and their music has racked up over 100 million streams. They've spent a good deal of time on the road, completing more than 15 international tours across 26 countries and 94 cities. Along the way, they've played festivals like SXSW, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Outside Lands, Electric Forest, Lightning in a Bottle, and the Montreal Jazz Festival, and they've been featured on KEXP, Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Cafe, and the BBC.

Their sound is a mix of psychedelic funk, global grooves, Middle Eastern melodies, and Latin-tinged rhythms. It's a wide reach for one band, and that's a good way to describe what they do: they pull from a few different traditions and let them run together. If you've never heard them, that's the best place to start.

Tickets are $30 in advance online and $40 at the door. The show is on Thursday, October 22, from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM at The Holding Company in San Diego.
