A Y2K-themed night of electronic music and live saxophone with Robot Dream and Pretty Pink Horror Story at The Boiler Room.
Robot Dream is back at The Boiler Room on Thursday, October 15, for a Y2K Throwback Thursday. He's a DJ and saxophonist who played this downtown Salt Lake City bar for years before moving to Los Angeles, and his set mixes Y2K mashups with live sax. Support comes from Pretty Pink Horror Story, who recently played the first Breakaway Festival in Sandy alongside Tiรซsto and John Summit.
Robot Dream's whole thing is that live sax over the top of the DJ set, and the Y2K theme tells you exactly what kind of records he's digging into. If you've been around the Salt Lake scene for a while, you probably remember him from his long run at The Boiler Room before he headed west, so this is a homecoming of sorts. Pretty Pink Horror Story brings the night's other half, coming off a high-profile slot at Breakaway in Sandy, where they shared the bill with Tiรซsto and John Summit.
