The sixth and final stop of the 2026 World Climbing Series, featuring men's and women's boulder competitions with top international athletes.
The World Climbing Series is taking over Smith's Ballpark from October 16 to 18, and it's a bit of a transformation: Salt Lake City's baseball stadium is being converted into a climbing arena for the weekend. The discipline is bouldering—climbers tackle short, difficult problems without a rope—and this is the sixth and final Boulder stop of the season, the one that decides the overall season winners.
There are men's and women's competitions. In the women's field, the title is being contested by Erin McNeice of Great Britain, Oceania Mackenzie from Australia, and Annie Sanders of the US. On the men's side, Japan's Anraku Sorato is the name to watch. He's won all five Boulder competitions held so far this season, so a victory here would give him six for six—a feat achieved only once before, by Slovenia's Janja Garnbret in 2019.
Oceania Mackenzie is having a year to remember. She's reached the final at every Boulder competition this season, with a first World Climbing Series gold in Bern and bronze in Keqiao and Innsbruck. She describes 2026 as one of the most successful of her career, and she's already looking toward the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games on her home soil.
